Well, I think we'll just do a general post about this lovely week. Sorry folks, no pictures :).
Monday, we started our week with two whiny older children. Grace has had this choppy, persistant cough for 3 weeks. I decided it was finally time to get that checked out. Cole was also striving for "cranky toad" status as well as coughing and sneezing everywhere. If I'm taking one I should go ahead and take him too right? Right.
I love our pediatrician, but I really wish I didn't know him that well. I mean really, we were just there 3 weeks ago! Anyway, Grace had bronchitis and inphentygo. Cole has another sinus infection (even after just finishing 3 weeks of antibiotics for that very thing) and I'm sent to the pharmacy with a sizable stack for prescriptions. Grace gets an oral antiotic, oral steroid and and inhaler. Cole gets 3 more weeks of a stronger antibiotic.
Well at least we have what we need to get on the mend. Monday night, Kayleigh is up all night. Coughing. Sneezing. Seriously? Yes, seriously. I made it 2 more nights but gave in this morning. Kayleigh had to go to the doctor. She has a cold and double ear infection. More antibiotics for us.
So, now I have one child on meds that make her illl as a hornet. One child on meds that upset his stomach and one that is ill now because the meds haven't kicked in yet. Anyone want a kid for the weekend?
I'm praying that next week we are on the mend and no more doctor visits!
We're going to give this blogging thing a shot. That way our friends and family can come along on this crazy ride that is our lives!

NAFCO Picnic 2010
I've got to start this post out by saying, Tim works for a really great company. NAFCO is a family business that has been done right and the people that get to work with and for the Parrish family are fortunate indeed. Each year that Tim has been there, NAFCO has done a family picnic for everyone that works there, but particularly for the guys that work on the floor. All the folks in management help cook, make snow cones, twirl cotton candy, referee the bouncy houses and the like.
The past 2 years we've had conflicts with Cole's birthday but this year we got to go and take the kiddos. Tim was manning the grill so I was solo on kid duty, which is why we only have a few pictures.
Cole wasn't very sure about the bouncy houses filled with kids he didn't know, but he did win one of the drawings. This is his "cheese" face.
Kayleigh was just happy to toddle around. We're working on this baby mullet thing we have going. Little pig tails seem to work ok - but the child HATES having her hair brushed, so it's few a far between when she has them. So here's 2 pictures of them. It will probably be a while before we get them up again.

Grace's favorite was the big slide.

I guess it was bright enough that she liked them.
October 5, 2007 - Happy Birthday Cole!
Three years ago we got the pleasure of welcoming this precious little boy into our lives. He weighted in a 5 lbs. 15 ozs, a tee-tiny little thing, but oh how wonderful! Just look at all that hair!

He decided he needed a little extra TLC so he stayed in the NICU for a week. This is when I finally got to hold him.

Big sister was eagerly waiting at home. She liked him right away!
Little mommy that she is, she just wants to be close to him.

Will's 1st Birthday
Seriously, how cute is my nephew? That darling tow headed boy turned the big ONE September 23 and we celebrated this past Saturday. Kelly & Rachel threw a great "pawty" (it was a doggie theme) and everyone had a great time.

Being the fabulous sister that I am, I found great joy in giving Will something with "some assembly required". You parents know how much fun that is, and for those of you without - BEWARE!

Aunt Lil and Uncle Ben gave him this Police Car - it looks like he likes it...

Check out Kayleigh, it looks like she likes it too. Will looks like a natural in the drivers seat!

Check out that grin! Kayleigh took over the police car and LOVED it. I believe something like this is in our future. Santa Clause maybe? We'll have to put it on the list.

Rachel gets the "good mother" award. She made this precious cake! For those of you that don't know, my mother, "Bess" told me before Grace's first birthday that if i was a good mother, that I would MAKE Grace's cake. Since then I've made 5 for Grace, 2 (working on the 3rd) for Cole and 1 for Kayleigh. I have also happily guilted my best friends into making their children's cakes too - sorry Am and Jess :)

Will had his very own Paw cake to demolish. He was pretty happy, just look at that smile!

A bit timid at first, he was almost dainty for about two minutes, then he got down and dirty.

But was still sweet enough to share with Daddy. Nothing like eating pre-slobbered, slimy cake. Kelly gets the good sport award.
My crazy kids at the party. Cole really wants a "powice car" too. Grace was just happy to be in the middle of everything bossing everyone around.

The Splash Pad
So, Hartselle opened their own Splash Pad this summer. We have not been able to use it as much as I would have liked but the few times we have gotten to go the kids have had a blast. Cole particularly likes the buckets that fill up with water and then pour out on his head. Grace likes the water canons that she can shoot others with. And Kayleigh, she mostly likes to watch. By the last trip she was a little more interested in playing in the water, I have a feeling next year she will be rip, roarin' and ready to go :)

Cole likes the tiger - this makes his daddy happy.

Grace likes the Elephant - that makes mommy happy.

Off to Auburn we go...
If there was any doubt before there shouldn't be now, we are truly a "house divided". I got to go to the opener for Alabama and Tim kept the kids. Payment was in the form of a trip to Auburn to watch Tim's boys play Clemson. We met Tim's parents down there (they brought their 5th wheel camper) and spent the weekend.
Of course we couldn't leave the kids for the whole weekend, who would have watched them? So we brought all three of the little pigs and 2 baby sitters, yes, two, to stay in the camper.
Our seats were great! Here's our view of the field. I'll take these seats anytime!

the RV park we stayed in was a good way off campus, but they had shuttle service to the edge of campus so it made life easier. here we are all 4 headed into the stadium.
Tim and I at the game. I hope he knows I love him. not only did I go, but i wore orange, I sang his fight song and did "Weegle Weegle" (seriously, what kind of cheer is that anyway). I could not however say "War Eagle" at kick off and, I caught my self singing "Rammer Jammer" once. What can I say? The tune was right. I caught my self just before making a fool of myself :)

So, what was it like in a pull behind camper with 3 kids, 2 teenagers and 4 adults you ask? Crowded! This is the living room. I'm sitting on the sofa to take the picture. Kayleigh is standing on Bethany's bed. we were a wee bit messy too....

Check out the bow in Kayleigh's hair, I tried putting on of Grace's in her hair. It didn't stay but it was pretty cute for a few minutes.
Bama vs. San Jose State
Yes, I know this game was almost 3 weeks ago, I'm just now finding time to upload at the pictures! Originally, i was going to be listening to this game at home or finding a friend who paid for pay-per-view. then my hubby comes through for me with tickets... but let's back up to the beginning.
The Wednesday night before the game, Tim and I are chilling out in the living room, talking about how we are looking forward to football season. That's when he mentions, "yeah, I've turned down 2 sets of tickets to the Bama opener..." Excuse me? Turned down tickets?? My only response... "ARE YOU NUTS?!?!?"
Seriously, I was NOT impressed. So being the sweetie he is (or perhaps worried for his life) he started hunting up tickets and got 2, yea for me!!! However, when he discovered that Auburn played at the same time he amazingly came down with a stomach bug, quite a coincidence right? Um-hmm, not buying it. He stuck to his story though and graciously offered to stay home with the kids and let me go with Am. Here are the pictures from our outing...
The new stadium - FANTASTIC!!! Cheers! Do you like our cups? Amber said we couldn't walk around with plain cups, it just wouldn't be festive so we poured our drinks in to these. Yes, they are glass, and yes, we made it home with both of them whole:)

Car tag on the way in to T-town - I sure hope it's a good prediction...
Really, there are no words for this. We wanted just his picture but somehow got roped in to posing with him...

Yes, they have 4 of them now, one in each corner of the field, but when you are up in the nose bleeds even those big screens aren't big enough to let you know what is going on!
I'm not very good at this am I?
I guess it's going to be feast or famine with me. I start my blog then get nothing on it. I really do have pictures and all kinds of things just waiting to be uploaded, just no time to execute. So hold on, I'm going to be uploading a lot today. I'm here by myself at the office and the phones are quite... catch up time :)

Viral Menengitis anyone?
So I start my blog and promptly become ill. Really? I shall try to do better in the future!
I am doing better now. It seems my little stomach bug turn into something a bit nastier and knocked me flat for the past four days. Thank you to my family for getting the kids to where they belong and keeping our house running. And thank you to Mellonie who is there today making sure everything is "defunked".
On a sweet side note, the morning I became ill, I called my mom to get the kids to school since I was clearly not capable and Tim had already left for work. My kids were just wandering around the house when mom opened the front door. Cole runs to her "Shh... mommy's sick, be quite!" That's my doll baby, already taking care of me!
